Mr. Da Silva, born in 1970 in Brazil, began his musical studies at the age of 8 as a trumpet player. At age 13 he enrolled in the Musical Band School of the City of Cubatão, São Paulo where he changed to the French horn. At the age of 20, in the ´90´s Mr. Da Silva began studying horn with Professor Daniel Havens, American hornist who arrived in Brazil in 1971.
Also he studied with Myron Bloom at Indiana University and was enrolled in the Artist Certificate Program under James Thatcher (worldwide known as a Hollywood studios player) at Azusa Pacific University. He played in the following musical organizations: Symphony orchestra of State of São Paulo (invited), hornist of the Brazilian Army Band academy (while serving in the army forces), Symphony Orchestra of State of Goiás (as a professional horn player), Symphony Band of State of São Paulo (as a professional hornist) and was invited to play with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra . For a week he participated as a guest in recording sessions in the Sony Studios Hollywood.
In the Fall Of 2010 Mr Marcelo Was invited by his Professor James Trarcher Who in 2010 was still Professor of the USC University Of Southerm California To be a member of the Examining Banking as a jury of the Fall Semester.
He was invited in 2013 for auditions for the New York Philharmonic and Cleveland Orchestra.Concerts with the following soloists: Antonio Meneses (Cello), Nelson Freire (Piano),Arnaldo Cohen (Piano), Alex Klein (Oboe), Airton Pinto (Violino), Caio Pagano (Piano), Fred Mills( Trompete), New York Philharmonic Brass Quintet and German Brass.
Conductors which Mr. Da Silva had worked: Zubin Metha, , Eleazar de Carvalho, Roberto Tibiriçá, Benjamin Niemczyk, Roberto Farias, Donavon Gray, Sidney Ricardo , alexandre Kroops Christopher Russell,Aylton Escobar and Cliff Colnot. Festivals enrolled: Campos do Jordão – Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão, participated in the following years: 1986;1987;1988 and 1991, Tatuí – Youth Orchestra Festival of Tatuí from 1985 to 1988, Summer Music Festival at the University of Indiana - USA, 2009.
In 2008 Mr Marcelo won the title of maximum distinction in performance given by the living legend in the art of playing Horn Mr Myron Bloom next to indiana University the North American government.
VITAE Foundation the National Competition in the years 1998-2000 (Brazil),2008 from the University of Indiana. Also participated in master classes with the following professors: Phil Myers (1st Horn – NY Philharmonic), Dale Clevenger (1º Horn – Chicago Symphony), Lucas Cristinaste (1º Horn – Lucerne, Suíça), Jeff Nelson (Hornist with the Canadian Brass), Daniel Perantoni (Tuba - Prof. Indiana.University), Daniel Havens (1st Horn – OSESP 1970 to 1987 Prof. Universidade USP).
2016 a july 2017 Mr Marcelo In NY at the invitation of Professor Philip Myers first Horn NY Philarmonic Marcelo to made classes at Lincon Center Theater.
2017 Mr Marcelo Won first audition for French Horn from Wind Essemble of Columbia University of New York.Marcelo made a Performance with his students for the Great Composer Ennio Morricone who was visiting the Institute.In 2007 at the Bacarelli Institute Mr Morricone very moved said he had never heard. his music Cinema Paradiso being performed with so much Love.
In November 2016 to August 2017 Marcelo participated as a member of the New York Session Simphony Orchestra.Mr Marcelo da Silva member American Federation Of Musican Of United states And Canada Afm 47 Local Los Angeles EUA.
Mr Marcelo Da Silva Has been invited to participate in major operas in Brazil and South America . As Professor Marcelo today and considered one of the greatest teacher of French Horn for children in the Word , he has been invited to give Master Classby Brazil and South America And with several invitation to give his Masters Class in the United States Europe as Suiça , England and Northern Irelan and Africa Also . Mr Marcelo has students Formed by him in the USA and South America And Armed Forces Of Brazil.
April 2018 Mr.Marcelo da Silva received the Honorary Doctorate in Gospel Music from the Evangelical Institute of Los Angeles USA. Mr Marcelo da Silva endorsing Artist Conn Selmer.
