Michael R. Thompson is the owner of Thompson Music Co. in Omaha, NE. He started the company in his basement in 1997 with the goal to help other trumpeters find the best instruments, mouthpieces and accessories needed to meet the demands placed on the brass performers of today. As Thompson Music Co. grew Michael employed a staff of other professional brass players with the same passion for helping our colleges find their optimal equipment. Today Thompson Music Co. is internationally known as a Trumpet pro shop shipping worldwide.
As a performer Mr. Thompson is Principal Trumpet in the Lincoln Symphony in Lincoln Nebraska. Other orchestral work includes the San Diego Symphony, the Nebraska Chamber Orchestra, and Omaha Symphony. Michael is the founding member of the Palladium Brass Quintet. He is also a member of the Omaha Brass Ensemble and the Plymouth Brass in Lincoln, Nebraska. Michael is the Trumpeter for Mannheim Steamroller and will be featured in their upcoming PBS special 30/40 (30 years of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas and 40 years of Fresh Aire) to be aired in the fall of 2015.
