Patrick Brown is Instructor of Saxophone and Music Theory at University of Nebraska at Omaha where he also directs jazz ensembles and teaches woodwind related courses. Originally from North Carolina, Patrick received his B.M. in Saxophone Performance and a Certification in Jazz Studies from Appalachian State University. After completion of his undergraduate degree, Patrick obtained a M.M. in Multiple Woodwind Performance (Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone) from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Before coming to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Patrick served as Adjunct Instructor of Saxophone and/or Jazz Studies at Davidson College, Wingate University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Union College, and Mitchell Community College. Patrick holds a D.M.A. from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Some of his performance highlights include sharing the stage with Aretha Franklin, Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Four Tops, Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Omaha Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Western Piedmont Symphony, and Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. Patrick is a Conn-Selmer artist and a D’Addario Woodwinds Performing Artist.
