Steve Justice is a commercial trumpet player living in Orlando, Florida. At age 9, Steve discovered the trumpet via his brother, who played trumpet in the local high school band. Having very musical parents, yet having a speech impediment from an early age, Steve was tutored and completely rehabilitated from his speech impediment by former NBC Symphony Orchestra and big band first trumpet Irving “Chopper” Lambert via ear training. At this time he also progressed rapidly with his trumpet skills.
In high school, Steve was a member of Florida All-County and All-State Concert and Jazz Bands- playing lead, first or jazz books, and played professionally at age 15. After graduating high school early, Steve played with a local college band before moving on to Berklee College of Music. Having been exposed to a diverse genre of musical styles while at Berklee, he went on to play in off-Broadway productions of Into the Light, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Singin’ in the Rain, Dames at Sea, The King and I, and Peter Pan. At this time he also performed with such acts and artists as Orchesta Sensacion, Sammy Davis, Jr., Aaron Neville, Billy Preston and the Miss Florida Pageant.
Itchy for world adventure, Steve left Berklee and signed on with Norwegian Cruise Lines, where he performed with The Weather Girls, Sister Sledge, Charo, The Spinners, Toots Theilemans, Deniece Williams, Motown Review, as well as the very talented house bands. It was a different act every week, and it was the exposure Steve gained with The Spinners that enabled him to perform with The Little River Band, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Take 6, and Tower of Power.
Mr. Justice remains active on the music scene, and regularly performs with top and world class musical talent in Florida.
