Daniel Paprocki

Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

Bio:

Dr. Paprocki received his Doctorate in clarinet performance from The Ohio State University. He also earned a BM in clarinet performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BSME in mechanical engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Paprocki has taught clarinet, woodwind methods, music fundamentals, and music appreciation at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He also taught at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, Malone College in Canton, Ohio and Kent State University - Stark Campus in Canton, Ohio.

Daniel Paprocki has played with the Evansville Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony, and the Erie Philharmonic. For five years he was the principal substitute on clarinet and bass clarinet with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Ohio. He is presently a substitute clarinet and bass clarinet with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

His primary teachers include James Pyne, Richard Page, Bil Jackson, James Smith, Glenn Bowen, Russ Dagon, and the New Arts Trio. Dr. Paprocki also studied with Roger Salander at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien, Austria. He has participated in master classes with Larry Combs, Rosario Mazzeo, Harold Wright, Anthony Gigliotti, and Mitchell Lurie.
