Miami Saxophone Quartet
Freeelance jazz saxophonist/recording artist

Bio:
Gary Keller has toured/recorded/performed with a wide diversity of jazz artists and ensembles including Woody Herman, David Liebman, Ira Sullivan, Jaco Pastorius, Maria Schneider, Jim McNeely, Manny Album, Kenny Werner, Chico O’Farrill, Kenny Wheeler, Clare Fischer, and the University of Miami Concert Jazz Band. He has also performed/recorded with the Florida Philharmonic, New World Symphony, the American Jazz Philharmonic, and is the founder and soprano saxophonist of the Miami Saxophone Quartet. His debut CD on Double-time records, “Blues For An Old New Age” garnered critical praise, including a three and one half star award from prestigious Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD.

Currently residing in Miami, Florida, Keller has been an active freelance and recording musician for over twenty-five years, backing up scores of touring artists including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Natalie Cole, Barry Gibb, and Harry Connick Jr. He holds a faculty position at the University of Miami where he has taught saxophone and jazz improvisation since 1982. Gary has authored articles on saxophone performance for the Saxophone Journal, Woodwind Player Magazine, the IAJE Journal, and was recently the subject of a featured artist interview for the Saxophone Journal. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
