Third Horn
The Cleveland Orchestra

Hans Clebsch joined The Cleveland Orchestra's horn section as third horn in summer 1996. He has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestra on two occasions, performing in Schumann's Konzertstck for Four Horns. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Mr. Clebsch attended the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music, and the University of Tennessee. His teachers have included Thomas Bacon, William Bommelje, Michael Hatfield, William Ver Meulen, and Roland Pandolfi.

Before joining The Cleveland Orchestra, Mr. Clebsch served as acting principal horn with both the Houston Ballet and Houston Grand Opera orchestras. He also worked with the Houston Symphony, as principal horn of the Mexico City Philharmonic, and with the orchestras of Austin, Nashville, Oregon, and San Antonio; the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra; the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy; the Seville (Spain) Symphony Orchestra; and the Minera Symphony Orchestra in Mexico.

Mr. Clebsch has given master classes in China, Mexico, Turkey, and the United States. He teaches privately and is the horn coach for the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. Mr. Clebsch lives in Shaker Heights with his wife and their son.
