Hu Jian, from Chongqing, China, began his trumpet studies at the age of 16. He is currently Associate Principal Trumpet of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. He came to this position having played Principal Trumpet in ChongqingSymphony Orchestra, Chongqing Opera and Symphony Orchestra of SCCM.
He has been active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He was the prize winner of the 7th Golden Bell of Chamber MusicBrass QuintetCompetition and got the performance award of the Chinese repertoires group. His albums “Today is your birthday”, “The road to sky” were chosen as the top 10 HIFI disc in 2009. As an educator, he was the Associate Trumpet Professor of Southwest University (China) in 2012.
You can also find his trumpet in numerous films, TV programs and ceremonies such as “I am a singer” by Hunan TV, 2010 GuangzhouAsian GamesOpening and Closing Ceremony. In October 2009, he attended the "Europa Lia China Art Festival" opening concert with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and National Vice President which held in Germany and Belgium.
