Les Miserables National Tour
Joshua Norton is currently the trumpet player for the North American touring production of the Broadway phenomenon “Les Miserables”. He resides in New York where he is an active teacher and freelancer. He has subbed with the New York Philharmonic, American Ballet Theatre, and the American Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed throughout Mexico with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas and in Canada with the 50th Anniversary tour of the film/tv series celebration of “Star Trek” for Cineconcerts.
Originally from Ventura, CA, Dr. Norton began his musical studies at Indiana University where he studied with Marie Speziale and Ed Cord. Upon graduation he attended the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Tom Smith. Dr. Norton then pursued his DMA at the University of Southern California under the guidance of Boyde Hood and Don Green. It was while in California that Dr. Norton taught at California Baptist University and Golden West College. Having subbed in California with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and performing regularly with the San Bernardino Symphony, Dr. Norton was just as active as a teacher and clinician in Southern California working with students from High Schools and Middles Schools across the greater Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Orange County areas.
