Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra
Born and raised in Manitoba, Keith Dyrda joined the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2015. A versatile performer, he has appeared in concert halls in numerous countries around the world, including Canada, USA, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Italy, China, Japan, and South Korea. Keith holds a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University (Montreal, QC) and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL).
Over the past decade Keith has frequently performed with many of the finest ensembles in the world, as well as competed in several international competitions. His resume includes the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Chamber Orchestra, the All-Star Brass (with which he recorded 4 albums), and the World Peace Orchestra for Korea. Keith is a grand prizewinner of the 2008 Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s Standard Life Competition, the winner of the 2009 Robert Marsteller competition at the International Trombone Festival (Aarhus, Denmark), and the winner of the solo competition at the 10th annual Alessi Seminar, which was also held in 2009 (Albuquerque, NM).
In 2010 Keith became the trombonist in the world renowned Canadian Brass, replacing founding member Gene Watts. During his tenure the ensemble recorded the album “Brahms on Brass”, which was nominated for a 2012 Juno Award.
