Alabama Symphony Orchestra
Since 2015, Nicholas Ciulla has served as Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his duties on stage, Nicholas is very involved in the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra and the ASO's outreach initiatives at schools throughout the area. He and principal trumpet, Ryan Beach, were recently profiled in the March 2018 issue of the International Trumpet Guild Journal.
Outside of the ASO Nicholas is an avid educator and clinician. He currently serves as trumpet instructor at Hoover High School and Vestavia Hills High School. In the Spring semester of 2018, Nicholas served as the Interim Instructor of Trumpet at Auburn University.
Prior to his position in the ASO, Nicholas was a doctoral student of Dr. Christopher Moore at Florida State University. He completed his Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance at Wichita State University while serving as Dr. David Hunsicker’s Graduate Teaching Assistant. While in Wichita, Nicholas was Second Trumpet in the Wichita Symphony as well as a member of the Wichita State Faculty Brass Quintet. He completed his Bachelors of Music degree at Baldwin-Wallace University, while studying with Mr. Jack Sutte.
