Remix Ensemble
Ricardo Pereira, born in Braga, began his musical studies with his father, António Pereira. Studied at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga (1999-2006), having completed the course in the class of professor Zeferino Pinto, obtaining maximum rating and awarded the prize for artistic merit.
He continued his studies at the Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espetáculo do Porto (2006-2009) where he completed a bachelor in trombone with the maximum distinction in the class of professor Severo Martinez. In the years between 2011 and 2013 studied at Minho University completing a master's degree in Music Education.
He is currently a soloist of the Remix Ensemble Casa da Música.
During his career he had the opportunity to work with teachers and soloists as Simon Cowen, Jacques Mauger, Severo Martinez, Robert Blossom, Jon Etterbeek, Petur Eiriksson, Gyorgy Gyivicsan, Stefan Schulz, Otmar Gaiswinkler, Andrea Conti, Charles Vernon, Mark Hampson, Andreas Klein, Achilles Liarmakopoulos, Toby Oft and Bart Claessens.
Winner of the 1st prize in “16th Chieri International Competition” Italy 2016. Winner of the 1st prize in the "Prize of the Young Musicians" (RDP-RTP 2013). Winner of the 1st prize in the II National Competition “Terras de la Salett” 2009. Awarded the 3rd Prize in the "Prize of the Young Musicians" (RDP-RTP 2008).
As a trombone soloist joined the European Union Wind Orchestra, Orquesta Joven de la Sinfónica de Galicia, International Mahler Orchestra, The World Orchestra, with whom he performed throughout Europe, and Lucerne Festival Academy.
He collaborated with several orchestras such as trombonist soloist, the Orchestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Madeira Classical Orchestra, Algarve Orchestra, North Orchestra, Porto Symphony Orchestra Casa da Música, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and Klangforum Wien.
He has been invited to develop, a little throughout the country, workshops, master classes, festivals and juries in competitions.
He performed as a soloist with the Viana do Castelo School Orchestra, with the Portuguese Symphonic Wind Band, North Orchestra, Chieri Sinfonietta Orchestra and the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
During the 2010 and 2011 seasons was a soloist in the North Orchestra.
He wrote in 2016, “BRAB” Trombone Quartet, published by AVA Musical Editions.
He is currently a professor at the Braga Conservatory of Music and Lisbon University of Music.
He is a founding member of the "Mr SC The Wild Bones Gang" and "Portuguese Brass".
He is currently an artist with VINCENT BACH.
