Gary Meggs has been an educator at the public school and collegiate level for 41 years. He is a graduate of El Dorado High School and holds a bachelors and master’s degree in music education from Henderson State University. Mr. Meggs was inducted into the Four States Bandmasters Hall of Fame in 2017 and was a Grammy Educator Semi-finalist in 2019. Mr. Meggs maintains an aggressive jazz clinician and performance schedule throughout the country. Mr. Meggs was a student of Eddie Daniels for several years. Mr. Meggs is presently Director of Bands for the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he teaches saxophone, flute, clarinet and the jazz band. Gary is also a past member of the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra and still maintains a high profile as a performing and recording artist. This year Mr. Meggs will be doing jazz clinics and performances in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Nevada. His latest CD, Life’s Little Changes is receiving airplay on an international level.
